I almost forgot...
...the most exciting part of last weekend. I gave my cat a bath, against my better judgment.
She has short hair, so she rarely needs baths. But lately the eau de cat has gotten a little strong. All the advice I read online recommended starting cats' baths young so that they're not afraid of water. Yeah, that would've been helpful to know SIX YEARS AGO when she was a kitten. Although my sister (the soon-to-be doctor of veterinary medicine) has given her baths in the past, I had not. In any case, we made it. I'll spare the details, since many before me have already documented the experience.
Now she's squeaky clean. Or at least her back is, which is all that really got washed, after she wriggled out of my grasp for the third time and I collapsed in an exhausted heap on my couch and said, "F--- it," or something equally original.

[Lucy in happier times, before her owner decided to torture both of them by trying to dunk Lucy in the bathtub.]

Don't get me wrong. It's a damn nice cat. But...don't you think we *need* to hear about your Moleskine?
Sal
I gave a cat a bath once. And only once. And I still have the scars to show for it. Bad kitty.
What in the world is Sal talking about?
I agree... what the hell is a Moleskin?
My girlfriend does the dog-washing in our home and she never seems to have any problems... then again, the bathroom looks like a water-balloon exploded there when she's done!
HI PAL!!!
It was sooo great to hear from you!
How is everything going? The real world treating you well? Sure hope so.
I have finished the Jamaican portion of my grad school, and I am now in London... and loving it I might add!!!
I have pics online, but it is not nearly as fancy as your Blog!

Show us the MOLESKIN! We know you want to.
Your post at Sal's made me crack up, BTW. :-)
Jenny! Glad you survived the Jamaican hold-up! I loved your photos.
OK, you Moleskine commenters... I finally posted about it!

As seen in a cat's diary:
Day 183 of my captivity... My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction that I get from clawing their furniture. Tomorrow I will eat another houseplant.
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded - must try this at the top of the stairs.
In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must remember to try this on their bed.
Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear in their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, that did not work according to plan...
There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing "allergies." I must learn what this is and how I may use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit.
The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I have patience, I can wait, it is only a matter of time...
